Ray Charles Hosting Time For Life Concert In Colosseum (2002)

On Saturday, 11 May 2002 Rome's Colosseum was home to Time For Life, a two-hour concert honoring peace, the first music concert in its 2000-year history, and part of a three-day gathering of world political and economic leaders discussing the Middle East conflict.
The concert was hosted by Ray Charles, who performed Georgia On My Mind, and who was joined by a host of international artists (starring Khaled and Noa; also in the clip below). The show was directed by Roberto Malfatto. The event was organised by Uri Savir, a former Israeli ambassador. Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, Mohammed Rashid - economic adviser to Yasser Arafat - and mayors from 25 cities across the world attended the show. At the end of the show all (except Ray) sang John Lennon's Imagine.
