In 1984 Hank Williams Jr recorded his album Major Moves, for Curb. The fifth track was a montage of three Lightning Hopkins classics, featuring guest performances by Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, and Dickie Betts on slide guitar: Blues Medley: My Starter Won't Start This Morning/Hold Up Your Head: My Starter Won't Start This Morning / Hold Up Your Head / One Kind Favor / Trouble In Mind. Ray played piano, and sang a bit (at 3:18).
