* Quincy Jones said: "Ray got to groovin' so good on Booty Butt that he couldn't resist sneakin' in a little soulful hum, and that got so good he had to go back and overdub it a few times more. And if you think Ray Charles sounds good by himself, just imagine four of him singing together."

This Lee Morgan composition (fully known as The Sidewinder) was recorded with the band at RPM International in Los Angeles, between January 1 to 10, 1970.
More than a year after the album release it became more widely known as the B-side to Booty Butt, which was released 'on public demand' (peaking at #31 on the Billboard Pop Chart and #13 on the R&B chart).
