On 30 July 1975 Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles hosted the third Ebony Music Awards Event at the Hollywood Palace. Both also performed.
Among the guests were Stevie Wonder, B.B. King, Quincy Jones, Rodney Allen Rippy, Esther Rolle, Vonetta McGee, Fred Williamson, Nancy Wilson, Janet and Randy Jackson, Millie Jackson and Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes.
The event first aired as a 90-minute syndicated tv special on August 7.
