This intimate version was played during the wonderful Piano Jazz meeting with Marian McPartland on January 9, 1990, taped at the Manhattan Beach Studios in New York.

On 9 January 1990 Ray Charles was a guest at Marian McPartland's NPR radio show Piano Jazz, taped at the Manhattan Beach Studios in New York (first broadcast on April 6, 1991).

One of the many good things that happened was a brief version of this tune (music by Mercer Ellington and lyrics by Ted Persons), as a culmination of a blues improvisation by Ray. Both Ray and Marian played piano, Ray hummed a little in the end. Listen here (aim about in the middle of the program).

On 9 January 1990 Ray Charles was a guest at Marian McPartland's famous NPR radio program Piano Jazz, taped at the Manhattan Beach Studios in New York. It was first broadcast on 6 April 1991, and it's a marvel - the virtuoso piano pieces are as interesting as the conversation is funny. During their conversation they played a few songs (Marian sometimes backing Ray on piano), and improvised some blues tunes together. Their script was:
